As a Heating Technologies Analyst, you'll drive technological advancement and market intelligence in our home consumer appliance portfolio. This role focuses on heating technologies across kitchen appliances (air fryers, coffee machines, air steam cookers), floor care (vacuum robots and cleaners), air purifiers, ironing machines, steamers, hair dryers, and other heating-enabled consumer products. The successful candidate will identify emerging trends, evaluate new technologies, and provide strategic insights to guide our development and innovation roadmap. Thus, enabling innovation by delivering systemic breakthrough concepts for heating technologies and thermal systems by translating market insights into technical innovation directions.

As a Heating Technologies Analyst, you'll drive technological advancement and market intelligence in our home consumer appliance portfolio. This role focuses on heating technologies across kitchen appliances (air fryers, coffee machines, air steam cookers), floor care (vacuum robots and cleaners), air purifiers, ironing machines, steamers, hair dryers, and other heating-enabled consumer products. The successful candidate will identify emerging trends, evaluate new technologies, and provide strategic insights to guide our development and innovation roadmap. Thus, enabling innovation by delivering systemic breakthrough concepts for heating technologies and thermal systems by translating market insights into technical innovation directions.
The Impact You'll Make
- Key Responsibilities
- Systematically track and evaluate advancements in heating technologies, such as induction heating, heat pump systems, smart thermal control solutions, and energy-efficient heating components.
- Identify and assess technology opportunities related to heating system components and energy efficiency and forecast their impact on development as part of innovation initiatives.
- Conduct competitive intelligence on heating innovations in consumer appliances, including patent landscape analysis
- Evaluate emerging materials and components for heating applications, including ceramic heating elements, infrared technologies, and rapid heating systems.
- Assess sustainability trends in heating technologies, focusing on energy efficiency & environmental impact reduction.
- Contribute towards building functional prototypes and conduct performance testing to validate innovation hypotheses
- Enable cross-industry benchmarking and technology comparisons.
- Carry out performance optimization studies and cost-benefit analyses of technical solutions.
- Examine the fundamental physical principles and thermal processes responsible for performance enhancements.
- Formulate alternative technical approaches and assess the advantages and disadvantages of various solutions.
- Track consumer preferences and market demands for heating-enabled appliances across all product categories.
- Analyse market size and potential growth areas for new heating solutions.
- Monitor regulatory developments and energy efficiency standards relevant to heating technologies.
- Identify gaps in the market where new heating innovations may be introduced.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize heating technology ideas and/or concepts.
- Clearly present technical functional concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide technical cost-performance data to support business case development.
- Work with external suppliers and technology partners on technical evaluations and concept validations.
- Support other teams with technical content and competitive analysis.
- Build and maintain global analyst networks in heating, thermal and related fields.
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Thermal Sciences, Innovation, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- Experience: Min. 2~5 years in tech analysis, product development, or engineering roles that include strategy duties.
- Innovation Experience: Demonstrated experience with innovation platforms & processes in the consumer domain.
- Technical Skills:
- Proven ability in thermodynamics, heat transfer principles, thermal management and embedded systems control.
- Broad knowledge of heating technologies including resistive heating, induction, infrared, and heat pump systems.
- Expertise in materials science, particularly on thermal materials and coatings.
- Understanding of global energy efficiency standards and regulations (such as Energy Star and EU energy labels).
- Analytical & Business Skills:
- Strong strategic, analytical and conceptual thinker with agile mindset.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (such as Excel, Python, R and SQL).
- Experienced in market research methodologies and competitive analysis.
- Effective at managing projects and multiple priorities.
- Competences & Soft Skills:
- Proven analytical skills in concept and functional model prototype evaluation.
- Excellent communication; able to explain technical ideas to non-experts.
- Consumer-minded approach with strong focus on understanding and addressing user needs
- Demonstrated stress resilience and a positive attitude.
- Creative problem-solving mindset with keen attention to detail.
- Skilled in executive-level presentations.
- Works independently and proactive with teams; entrepreneurial mindset.
- Industry: Experience in consumer appliances preferred; background in energy systems, heating technologies, or thermal applications is a plus.
