Director of Sales Marketing


Labeau was formed from a merger announced in February 2024 between Hark/Sion and Microflor. The company specializes in the breeding and propagation of young ornamental plants, with Phalaenopsis being its largest product. With around 950 employees and locations across Germany, Belgium, Slovakia, Turkey and the Netherlands, Labeau is the second largest breeding company for Phalaenopsis worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales, Marketing & Business Development to steer the company’s commercial strategy and unlock new growth opportunities.

As a member of the Management Team , you lead Sales, Marketing and Product Management, strengthen customer partnerships and open new markets. You translate our strategic ambition into concrete commercial actions and ensure the organisation is positioned to win. You play a key role in expanding our market footprint and profitable growth.

  • You turn company strategy into a concrete commercial plan with clear targets and measurable outcomes.
  • You identify new markets, new customer segments and new revenue streams—and turn them into real business.
  • You build pricing structures, channel strategies and partnership models that create competitive advantage.
  • You guard customer profitability and step into key accounts to unlock growth.
  • You lead the marketing direction and make sure the brand stands out—online, at events and in every touchpoint.
  • You steer product management: sharpen the current portfolio and in line with customer needs
  • You feed market insights directly into breeding and R&D to shape future product development.
  • You bring commercial intelligence to the Management Team and influence strategic decisions.
  • You develop a high-performing commercial organisation through coaching, ownership and ambition.
  • You own the commercial budget and invest where it creates the strongest return.

What do you bring ?

  • You hold a master’s degree.
  • You bring at least five years of senior commercial experience: sales leadership, business development, marketing—or a mix of these in an international environment
  • You know the dynamics of horticulture, agriculture, FMCG or another competitive market.
  • You understand the full commercial game: strategy, execution and people.
  • You speak Dutch at native level and communicate fluently in English; German helps.
  • You recognise opportunities fast and you combine commercial instinct with financial insight.
  • You negotiate with confidence, think analytically and stay calm under pressure.
  • You enjoy building strong global teams and helping people grow
  • You feel at ease with digital tools and modern marketing channels.
