EHS Manager needed for a Major Offshore Wind project in the Netherlands.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project-specific EHS plans, policies, and compliance procedures.
- Ensure adherence to Dutch (Arbowet), EU regulations, and clinet standards.
- Oversee EHS performance across EPC contractors and subcontractors onsite.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments (including HVDC-specific hazards).
- Lead incident/near-miss investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Manage Construction Phase Plan and safety documentation (e.g., VGM / VCA / HSE management systems).
- Support permitting requirements, environmental controls & sustainability compliance.
- Provide EHS reporting to project leadership and consortium stakeholders.
- Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions & behavioral safety initiatives.
- Coordinate emergency response planning and drills.
- Act as safety representative during installation & commissioning of HV equipment.
- Promote a proactive safety culture across multinational teams.
Requirements:
- 5+ years EHS leadership on major industrial construction projects.
- Experience with High Voltage substations / grid infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch HSE law and EU standards.
- Dutch language - professional proficiency.
- Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., HV safety training, NEBOSH, HVK/MVK, equivalent).
- Proven track record in contractor management on complex sites.
- Able to work 2-3 days minimum onsite at Maasvlakte.
- Experience with HVDC systems, offshore wind grid connection, or TSO projects.
- Familiarity with HSE requirements
- Expertise in environmental permitting and sustainability implementation.
- Strong stakeholder management and reporting to executive project levels.
