Role Summary

As a Senior Specialist – Integration Architect, you will collaborate with diverse experts, drive technical implementation choices, and shape the architecture of solutions that underpin European Security.

Responsibilities

• Act as principal liaison with Architecture and Engineering ICT Units, translating high‑level directions into implementable changes.
• Produce, maintain, and expand architecture standards and reference architectures for decentralized, cloud, and datacenter‑based solutions.
• Devising capability and solution architecture blueprints, including roadmaps.
• Analyse the impact of changes, producing detailed solutions designs that guide implementation.
• Identify technical tasks and dependencies, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide hands‑on guidance to development teams, participating in design and implementation.
• Monitor and participate in selected EU and law enforcement fora, sponsoring internal adoption of interfaces and standards.
• Define and execute appropriate documentation approach across projects.
• Perform Technical Product Management of selected systems and platforms.

Key Requirements and Knowledge

• A level of education as described in the vacancy notice.
• Experience in architecture definition, specification, and support to ICT delivery projects.
• Experience with architecture and engineering of cloud‑based, cloud native, on‑premises, and hybrid solutions.
• Experience with integration patterns and technologies across systems and services.
• Experience with microservices architecture patterns and technologies.
• Experience in API design, management and security (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).
• Experience in data integration, ETL processes, and data migration strategies.
• Experience with security controls and information assurance techniques for cloud native solutions.
• Knowledge of integration architecture concepts and patterns (SOA, microservices, message queuing, EBUS, orchestration, streaming).
• Knowledge of integration middleware and technologies (AMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, RedHat FUSE).
• Knowledge of integration security (OAuth, SAML, JWT, SSL/TLS).
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, data protection, and privacy.
• Knowledge of web, batch, portal, analytics architectures.
• Knowledge of large‑scale integration, system design and implementation.
• Knowledge of ICT Operations principles and process definition.
• Knowledge of information standardization and interoperability.

Salary and Benefits

Basic monthly salary: EUR 8 651,92 (step 1) or EUR 9 015,49 (step 2). Indicated net salary for AD8 step 1: EUR 8 692,31 (single with expatriation allowance) or EUR 10 992,26 (single with two dependants).
