The Product Management team’s role is to drive the successful development, delivery, and management of a product proposition throughout its lifecycle. The Product Management team plays a central role in aligning the product with customer needs, market trends, and business goals.
About the role
As Technical Product Manager for District Heating (DH) Commercial Solutions, you are responsible for shaping and managing the technical content of our portfolio—primarily focused on heat networks and Heating Interface Units (HIUs). You act as a crucial bridge between Commercial Portfolio Management and R&D to ensure that products and systems meet market and customer needs, are delivered on time, and adhere to cost and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define technical themes and co‑own the Technology Roadmap (includes platforms, modules, standard components; aligns on technical system scope)
- Co‑own the System/Product Roadmap (in alignment with Business Area Portfolio Management; focus on technical scope and timeline)
- Assess competitor products and systems; perform benchmarking and develop performance‑based sales arguments
- Own and manage the Platform Portfolio (Advanced, Mid, Basic), ensuring technical features meet market needs, promote interoperability, and maximise building block efficiency
- Lead New Product Development (NPD) process responsibilities:
- Translate customer requirements into technical content and scope
- Conduct feasibility assessments and define timelines
- Participate in PRB for Stage Gate approvals and cost/feature trade‑offs
- Ensure operational integration
- Provide input for technical sales materials
- Coordinate field trials
- Lead Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) responsibilities:
- Manage technical impact from operations, quality, procurement, and customer feedback
- Approve ECRs and communicate updates
- Scan and evaluate product/system innovation opportunities
- Maintain and update Product Information Management (PIM) system and technical product database
- Oversee certification requirements and ensure compliance across the product portfolio

Experience we’re looking for:
Essential
- Engineering degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical, thermal systems, building technologies)
- At least 5 years of experience in industry or product management in a related sector
- Strong understanding of product development processes
- Proven cross‑organisational collaboration skillsProject management experience
Desirable
- Experience with district heating systems or Heating Interface Units
- Knowledge of certification and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with PLM/NPD tools and methods (e.g., ECR, VAVE, PRB)
- Matrix stakeholder management capabilities
