This established European EdTech leader has been shaping how millions of children learn for 15+ years. They’re now embarking on the next chapter: transforming their multi-brand platforms into AI-first learning experiences that empower every child to grow with confidence. They’re looking for a strategic, people-first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead this transformation - shaping technical vision, scaling architecture and teams, and driving ethical AI adoption at scale.

TL;DR

Location : Amsterdam area (hybrid 50/50)

Env : B2C/B2B2C EdTech | multi-brand SaaS learning platforms

Tech : Python, Ruby on Rails, VueJS, ReactJS, Unity, AWS, microservices, AI/ML

Role

• As CTO you’ll set the long-term tech vision and own the roadmap to deliver scalable, secure, AI-driven learning experiences across brands used by millions of students.
• You’ll guide architecture optimisation, champion DevOps and cloud-native infrastructure, and enable the transition to AI-first products.
• You’ll lead and mentor a growing engineering organisation - fostering an open, inclusive, high-performance culture - while partnering with the CEO, CPO, CFO and CCO at the leadership table.
• You’ll also represent technology externally to partners, investors, and the broader EdTech & AI ecosystem.

Who?

• 10+ years in engineering, incl. 5+ years in senior technology leadership (Head of Eng / VP Eng / CTO)
• Track record scaling teams, systems & architecture in high-growth product/platform environments
• Deep expertise in architecture, cloud infra (AWS or GCP), microservices, security at scale, CI/CD
• Fluent in AI trends with practical experience applying AI/ML to enhance user experiences
• Excellent communicator who thrives at the intersection of business and technology
• Proven leader of inclusive, high-performing teams with strong mentoring skills

Nice to haves

• Background in EdTech or other mission-driven consumer platforms
• Experience managing multi-brand or multi-maturity-stage platforms
• Prior success driving large-scale AI-first transformations
