As a Software Architect at BridgeFund you are responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance back-end systems!

These systems use the Node.js framework to support business needs. To be considered for this role, you will need a strong background in Node.js development, architecture design, and software engineering. Knowledge of NestJS is a plus

.You have experience in technically managing development teams, enjoy working with different stakeholders and deliver complex systems on time and within budget. Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills are essential to be successful in this role. In addition, you are familiar with technologies such as databases, caching systems, queues, MySQL/MongoDB and message brokers.

About the role

As a Software Archit ect, you take the lead in translating high-level solution architect designs into practical software implementations. You establish best practices, implement design patterns and create a standardized, modern and scalable tech stack for the company. The Software Architect is open-minded and can create consensus within the team on technical solutions. You facilitate discussions around technical choices and are open to new and innovative ideas. The goal is to work with the team to build the solution that best fits the vision of the company and the team.

What are you working on / your responsibilities

• Designing advanced backend syst ems: Develop powerful backend systems such as databases, APIs and microservices that perfectly match business needs and take performance to the next level.
• Innovate Toget her: Work closely with diverse teams to define technical requirements and realize system architectures that bring ideas to life and make integration seamless.
• Architecture with precis ion: Create technical specifications, diagrams, and design documents that clearly map the structure, functionality, and interfaces of our systems.
• Code Quality and Mentor ing: Lead code reviews and coach the team toward high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Standards of Excelle nce: Ensure our systems meet industry standards, best practices and security guidelines for secure and efficient solutions.
• Solving technical puzz les: Solve problems across the entire application stack so that front-end, middleware, and back-end work together.
• High-quality framewo rks: Develop strategies and frameworks that ensure optimal system quality and efficiency.
• Optimize performance and innovat ion: Analyze performance issues and implement improvements to increase system responsiveness and throughput. Stay up to date with trends and tools within Node.js.
• Remove technical roadblo cks: Actively remove technical obstacles so the team can perform optimally.
• Designing the Fut ure: Play a key role in defining the company's software architecture to support business goals, working closely with top architects and engineering leads.
• Architecture and Innovat ion: Dive deep into technical architecture, working closely with solution architects and the Head of Engineering to shape our technology future.

What you bring

• Minimum 8 years of experience in software development and engineering, with extensive experience in system architecture and design
• A strong background in developing large-scale web applications in Node.js or Java.
• Deep knowledge of Node.js and its ecosystem, including popular libraries and frameworks (we love NestJS)!
• Excellent understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform
• In-depth knowledge of relational (MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases, with a focus on architectural aspects. Experience with event-driven architecture is a big plus
• Extensive experience in designing RESTful web services and APIs, with a strong knowledge of microservices architecture
• Proven ability to translate high-level architectural concepts into practical implementations
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills combined with strategic technology in sight
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and able to effectively lead technical teams
• Experience in FinTech and/or in a start-up/scale-up environment is a plus
• Familiar with continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis and automated integration testing.
• Experience with continuous delivery is a plus
• Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
• You feel at home in a dynamic environment with a focus on results
• You can communicate excellently verbally and in writing with both business and tech teams
