Adjunct‑director – Portus Juliana, Rotterdam‑Zuid
Portus Juliana is a forward‑looking Christian school that offers (t)homework‑free education, personal attention and a positive climate for around 575 students. The school is embarking on a transformation: each department will soon have its own building and the overall student enrolment will grow to 600 in the Mavo and 500 in the Havo.
Base pay range

Overview of the role
As adjunct‑director you will be the face and the engine of Portus Juliana. You will set direction, inspire and drive the school, lead the department heads, and support their development. You are co‑responsible for curriculum development, personnel policy, finance, quality assurance and the further growth of the school.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the school leadership team.
- Strategically develop and enhance the curriculum and learning environment.
- Manage personnel planning and development.
- Oversee financial planning and resource allocation.
- Ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Represent the school to parents, stakeholders and the community.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recent years of senior leadership experience within education.
- Ability to navigate between different groups and work comfortably in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to have open, respectful conversations about differences and to make them constructive.
- Concrete examples of creating space for diverse voices, e.g. Launching new initiatives, bridging groups or adapting policies based on community feedback.
- Energy for working in a large‑city, diverse setting and seeing opportunities for innovation and connection.
