Chief Officer SRI – Van Oord

Van Oord is a family‑owned business that prioritizes people and safety. The offshore fleet includes subsea rock installation vessels, cable‑laying vessels, and wind‑installation jack‑up vessels. The role operates on a 5‑weeks‑on, 5‑weeks‑off sailing schedule and involves independent leadership of offshore projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead navigation duties and ensure all nautical operations are carried out safely and responsibly.
• Maintain onboard environmental regulations and oversee safety equipment compliance, such as ISM & ISPS standards.
• Consult daily with the Captain, project management, and client representatives to optimise production processes.
• Train and coach 2nd and 3rd Mates, and trainees on board.
• Handle the ship's administration according to Van Oord's standards.

About You

• Completed training as a Maritime Officer.
• Extensive practical experience as an officer of the watch.
• Possession of a DP Unlimited licence.
• STCW courses completed and readiness to complete all recommended Van Oord training.
• Proficiency in the English language at a professional level.
