The position

As a Machine Learning Engineer at agap2, you take on the challenge within an international environment with a local focus. You will have the opportunity to work on various projects over the years, based on your experience and interests. Projects within industries such as Banking, Fintech, Telco, Retail, Sports, and Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

You will collaborate in building, improving, and scaling smart advertising solutions. You’ll join our Sponsored Products team—the group behind the recommendation algorithm that powers sponsored product placements across several European markets, and soon in the US.

This role is ideal for someone who loves hybrid work: applying advanced data science methods while also contributing high‑quality, scalable software that runs smoothly in production.

• Develop and implement new features within our Sponsored Products solution.
• Maintain, optimise, and evolve our recommendation algorithm to maximise relevance and performance.
• Manage the DevOps lifecycle of our data science services, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and observability.
• Perform data analysis and create reporting that supports both product and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Backend Developers, and QA Engineers in a high‑performance team.
• Work directly with international retailers—our clients—who use our retail media solutions.

What You Bring To The Position

• Extensive experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer , with strong development skills in Python .
• Proven experience working with recommendation systems or relevance models .
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and experience maintaining production‑grade systems.
• Experience in AdTech , retail media , or other high‑traffic environments is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies and comfort working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills—you share knowledge openly and can engage with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• A strong conceptual thinker who sees the broader product vision and understands what’s required to drive meaningful improvement.
