What You’ll Do

As a software engineer at NewStore, you’ll:

• Dive into product discovery and take ownership of delivering solutions within your team’s domain, practicing agile Kanban methodologies.
• Influence and contribute to the team’s OKRs and participate in wider engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate through TDD and pair programming, learning from fellow engineers and sharing knowledge.
• Support a DevOps mindset with testing, quality assurance, compliance, and security responsibilities within your teams.
• Drive technical and product direction based on data, promote pride, ownership, and accountability, and focus on customer and company outcomes.
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences and mentor others when appropriate.

Qualifications

• You have 8+ years of experience delivering complex software solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Strong in areas critical to our platform (e.g., database optimization, service frameworks, continuous delivery).
• Experience with Node.js / Typescript and knowledge of cloud architecture with AWS.
• Optionally, experience with Nest.js and Terraform is a nice-to-have.
• Knowledge of fiscal and tax compliance domains is welcomed but not mandatory.
• Understanding of modern development methodologies (TDD, Pair Programming, Continuous Deployment) and ability to advocate for them within your team.
• Ability to guide technical discussions and make well-considered architectural decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to inspire and motivate your team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
