Role overview
As Head of Engineering, you steward our engineering organization and its voice within the company. You bridge software and hardware teams, ensuring execution effectiveness, integrating engineering perspectives, and growing the team from roughly 20 to 45 FTE in line with company ambition. You partner closely with the Head of People & Culture, agile coach, product managers, and CTO.
Key responsibilities
- Drive delivery excellence and developer experience, continuously improving workflow flow and balancing speed with quality.
- Define and track engineering health metrics to guide improvements and demonstrate impact.
- Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, safety, and transparency.
- Oversee and align the hiring plan for all engineering teams, building scalable pipelines with recruitment.
- Own and refine the organization‑wide Growth & Compensation Framework from an engineering perspective.
- Act as a thought partner for tech leads, people leads, product managers, and the agile coach.
- Facilitate cross‑team decision making, aligning and evolving engineering principles, including code quality, security, observability, AI strategy, and consistent architectural direction.
- Advocate for engineering priorities in cross‑functional discussions and act as a technical voice at the executive level.
Requirements
- 7+ years experience leading software‑dominant engineering teams, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated success growing teams in a scale‑up environment.
- Significant professional experience as a software engineer.
- Open and positive communication style.
