The Purpose of this role is to grow the respective BA (Business Area) APM (Advanced Process Manufacturing) Pharma presence in the Netherlands in line with overall APM strategy and financial targets. This position is based in Leiden, Netherlands & will report directly to the APM European BU Director. This role will be based 3 days a week in the Leiden Office.

Individual accountabilities

• Influence Global BA strategy and implement it within local context through financial and non-financial KPI’s (e.g. Turnover).
• Embed cross GBA (Global Business Area) strategic themes in the organization and offering, e.g., sustainability, standardization, and automation.
• Collaborate with global network to enable focus and scale.
• Delivery of financial and target performance:
• Own operational and financial performance in line with overall APM strategy and targets of the BA in Netherlands on country level.
• Continuously improve country BA’s competitive position through strong client focus, investments in capabilities (e.g., technical expertise, commercial skills), drive in cost competitiveness, and talent management.
• Represent APM to top BA accounts/clients in country:
• Work seamlessly with the Growth/Business development function to identify and secure project opportunities.
• Maintaining and developing client relationships based on trust.
• Represent the business area in the local market and the key clients associated to the business area.
• Leverage global network of expertise to strengthen GBA cross‑selling and drive “fit-for-purpose” growth to meet market and client demands (e.g., holistic view to identify areas of client focus to double‑down).
• Develop integrated propositions across GBA’s for clients.

Operational aspects

• Act as a visible steward of health and safety, sustainability, and inclusivity.
• Ensuring resource requirements are identified at department level and planned to achieve project objectives.
• Identify any gaps in technical and project management capability and recruit necessary resources to address.
• Provide leadership to the team. Ensure your team are respected, protected and supported to achieve project goals.
• Implement GEC model and targets within the operation.
• Ensure that all personnel comply with the quality management systems including lessons learned and continuous improvement.

Key shared accountabilities

Together with other BA Directors, improve health of the organization and corporate responsibility (e.g., diversity, inclusivity, equality, employee satisfaction, retention).

• Together with the BA Sales Director, prioritize key client to develop account and growth plans.
• Together with the BA Finance and BA Operations: Identify & manage financial and operational risks & Monitor and report the financial performance

Profile requirements

• The candidate should have a bachelor or master's degree and at least 10+ years of experience leading and growing a significant A&E / Project delivery function and have experience of delivering EPCMV projects in the Pharmaceutical sector.
• The candidate will be able to demonstrate significant leadership capability and the ability to inspire multi-disciplinary teams around a common purpose.
• Qualifications in financial/business management, client management, innovation and leadership are highly desirable, as is professional membership of relevant business institutions, industry boards or international think tanks.
• Ideally, the candidate will have built a strong market reputation and personal brand through thought leadership, market-facing activities and representing APM at external opportunities, ideally in the Business Area.
