Senior Software Engineer – Low Latency

About the Opportunity

Our engineering team, located in Amsterdam, is looking for self‑driven, talented people who can help make digital assets available for everyone. We are expanding our core backend teams to drive innovation with a focus on designing and implementing cutting‑edge low‑latency services, enabling a seamless customer experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate with the Engineering Manager, Staff Engineer, and the team to craft highly performant, low‑latency, and high‑throughput services.
• Dive into technical challenges, building solutions to guarantee peak performance across our systems with a focus on measurements and benchmarking.
• Actively participate in pivotal decisions on technology stacks and architecture.
• Participate in operational rotations to resolve incidents in our production environment.

What We Look For

• 5+ years of development experience.
• Firm understanding of low‑level JVM & OS concepts with a strong grasp on Kotlin (preferred).
• Solid understanding of programming design patterns and principles.
• Nice to Haves:
  • Experience in a tech‑startup/scale‑up environment.
  • Knowledge of network protocols – TCP, UDP.
  • Familiarity with libraries such as Aeron and/or Chronicle Queue.
  • Experience with event‑driven microservices using Kafka.
  • Experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem and cloud platforms (AWS).
