Director of Mechanical Engineering - Eindhoven

Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Director to join a high-growth technology company in Eindhoven. The Mechanical Engineering Director will play a key role in leading the mechanical design and development of advanced printing instrumentation, driving innovation across product platforms and ensuring robust engineering processes as the company scales.

This is a senior leadership position, responsible for managing and mentoring a multidisciplinary team, while remaining hands-on in design when needed. You will oversee full lifecycle mechanical development, from concept and prototyping through to production, with a strong emphasis on precision instrumentation, system integration, and manufacturability. This role is based in Eindhoven and offers the opportunity to help shape the engineering function of a pioneering technology company at a key stage of growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of advanced printing instrumentation, driving innovation across product platforms and ensuring robust engineering processes as the company scales.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, while remaining hands-on in design when needed.
• Oversee full lifecycle mechanical development from concept and prototyping through to production, with emphasis on precision instrumentation, system integration, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in mechanical engineering, ideally at Director or Manager level
• Background in printing systems, instrumentation, or related precision electromechanical products
• Strong knowledge of materials, tolerance analysis, and high-accuracy mechanisms
• Experience managing suppliers and external partners
• A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-moving, innovative environment
