Senior Staff Software Engineer

Overview

You will be responsible for leading a team of high-calibre engineers with strong academic backgrounds, and you will enjoy technical discussion around design, development and software engineering best-practice. Supported by a team of DevOps Engineers and Product design specialists, the Lead Software Engineer must have strong communication skills and enjoy coaching and mentoring developers in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor engineering teams
• Collaborate on design, development and software engineering best-practice
• Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams
• Engage in experimentation with new technologies outside your comfort zone (e.g., Rust, Python, Next.js, NoSQL, SQL, Express.js)

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of commercial experience
• Passion for emerging and interdisciplinary topics (agentic systems, machine learning, data analytics, computational modelling, etc.)
• Willingness to experiment with new technologies outside your comfort zone
• Strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Commercial experience using Git
• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
