About the Position

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of financial administrative tasks including journal entries, invoice processing, reconciliations, and VAT reporting. You will work closely with the Finance team and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial operations that support OTC Flow’s continued growth.

Responsibilities

• Post daily journal entries in Exact to ensure the general ledger remains accurate and up to date.
• Perform daily bank postings and reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and matched.
• Investigate and clear suspense accounts and unmatched items in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain and monitor the accounts payable (AP) invoice mailbox to ensure timely intake, routing, and follow-up.
• Process vendor invoices accurately, manage approval workflows, and prepare payment batches in line with company policies.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, ensuring all balances are tied to Exact and supported by proper documentation.
• Maintain open-item schedules with clear explanations and action plans, and ensure timely preparer and reviewer sign-off.
• Support in the preparation and submission of (inter)national VAT returns in accordance with Dutch and international tax laws.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and internal controls to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure accuracy in financial records.

About You

• You have completed a relevant financial education.
• You have at least 2 years of work experience in accounting.
• You are fluent in English, both oral and written. Fluency in Dutch is a string advantage.
• You have extensive knowledge of Dutch tax laws and regulations.
• You have experience with tax returns, (inter)national VAT returns, and communication with financial institutions (e.g., tax authorities).
• You are familiar with applicable accounting standards (e.g., Dutch GAAP, IFRS) — prior experience applying these in a professional setting is a plus.
• You work accurately even with strict and challenging deadlines while remaining flexible.
• You have a strong drive to improve financial processes and controls.
• You have an analytical mindset and the ability to work in a structured manner.
