Project Control Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Project Control Engineer with experience in Planning & Cost Control. You are capable of independently supporting our project managers in leading and managing projects across all aspects of time and cost. As a hands-on team lead, you will be responsible for the daily coordination of the project control team.

WHAT MIGHT YOUR WORK WEEK LOOK LIKE?

As a Senior Project Control Engineer, your knowledge and experience will help advance the department. Your responsibilities will include:

On projects:

• Setting up and developing (EPCm) project schedules in line with project requirements. You can sketch a conceptual timeline and advise the project manager on project approach, phasing, and WBS. We are explicitly not looking for a historian, but someone who is actively involved in the team and provides (un)solicited advice based on insight and observation.
• A key part of your role is monitoring the project and identifying trends early that may impact progress and results.
• You are a sparring partner for the project manager and team to achieve optimal control over planning and costs. In addition to cost control, you contribute to the change control process.
• Periodically updating schedules and cost overviews based on progress and status information, in communication with the engineering team and project manager.
• You analyze planning, progress, and costs, and discuss these with discipline engineers. You work closely with the Project Manager but are also capable of independently interpreting and describing the status of planning, progress, and costs.

As ‘primus inter pares’:

• First point of contact for requests regarding Project Control & Cost Control support and responsible for assigning colleagues to projects;
• You provide substantive leadership to the team;
• Where needed, you support colleagues with advice and coaching based on your knowledge and experience;
• You ensure that project control deliverables are produced according to KH standards and contribute to improving our processes and systems;
• You report to the Manager Project Services.

• Have a bachelor’s level of education and thinking;
• Have at least ten years of relevant experience as a Project Control Engineer in a professional engineering environment, such as an engineering firm or contractor;
• Possess solid knowledge and experience in multidisciplinary engineering and construction processes;
• Are proficient in Primavera, MS Project, and MS Office applications;
• Have a proactive attitude;
• Can express yourself well in English, verbally and in writing;
• Hold a valid VCA VOL certificate or are willing to obtain or renew it soon.
