Procurement and Compliance Specialist

Whom are we looking for?

We are seeking a hands-on, Procurement & Compliance Specialist to build and professionalize our procurement and supply chain processes for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

In this role you will be challenged to review our procurement processes from the ground up. This will include ensuring technical and legal compliance (ISO standards, EU Battery Passport), leverage our China office for local sourcing, supplier management and compliance, work with our ERP system to manage procurement and inventory data, and collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth and compliant procurement across all categories.

What it takes you to be successful in this role:

  • Build and implement procurement workflows aligned with ISO and EU standards.
  • Source technical components for BESS (cells, modules, PCBA, electrical/mechanical parts).
  • Execute tenders, RFQs, and supplier evaluations, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Coordinate procurement planning, material flow, and inventory monitoring via the ERP system.
  • Maintain clear communication and reporting between our EU HQ and China office.
  • Ensure local suppliers comply with company standards and EU regulatory requirements.
  • Support cross-border contract negotiations, NDAs, and framework agreements.
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts and supplier agreements in line with ISO and EU regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with EU Battery Passport, REACH, RoHS, and other relevant directives.
  • Set up and maintain supplier qualification processes, audits, and documentation within our ERP system.
  • Optimize procurement workflows and supplier performance tracking through the ERP system, including inventory management and supplier compliance data.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in technical procurement, supply chain, or buying within manufacturing, BESS, EV, or electronics sectors.
  • Strong understanding of ISO standards, EU regulatory frameworks, and supplier compliance processes.
  • Experience with China-based sourcing and managing cross-border procurement.
  • Proficient in ERP systems for procurement, inventory, and supplier management.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese; Dutch is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EU Battery Passport and sustainability reporting is a strong advantage.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset with eye for details and strong organizational skills.
