Freelance Data Engineer / Python Developer – Amsterdam - Dutch Speaking***

One of my clients, a fast-growing Amsterdam-based startup is seeking a senior Freelance Data Engineer / Python Developer to design, build, and scale our data infrastructure and backend services. You’ll work closely with their founding team to deliver high-impact data pipelines and APIs in a modern cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and optimize scalable big-data pipelines and ETL processes
• Develop robust backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Design and maintain cloud-native data platforms on AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, Redshift)
• Ensure data quality, observability, and performance at scale
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver data-driven features quickly

Requirements:

• 10+ years professional experience in data engineering or backend development
• Deep expertise in Python, big data frameworks, and FastAPI
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
• Proven track record building scalable data systems in high-growth environments
• Ability to work autonomously in a startup setting; strong communication skills
• Dutch speaking
• ZZP/BV setup***
