Buyer

We are seeking a motivated Operational Buyer to join our pharmaceutical operations team in Meppel. This role is critical in ensuring smooth procurement processes, accurate stock management, and strong supplier relationships. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activities, maintaining master data, and supporting financial and forecasting processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in food, pharma, FMCG, nutrition, or other regulated industries. No prior pharmaceutical experience is required — we value transferable skills and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Ordering & Receipts:
• Process purchase orders and receipts in line with company policies.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
• Supplier Management:
• Act as the primary contact for suppliers, maintaining strong relationships.
• Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues when necessary.
• Forecasting & Planning:
• Support demand forecasting and inventory planning.
• Collaborate with supply chain and finance teams to align procurement with business needs.
• Master Data Management:
• Maintain accurate supplier, product, and pricing data in ERP systems.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external data standards.
• Finance & Stock Ownership:
• Monitor stock levels and reconcile inventory records.
• Support finance in invoice matching, cost tracking, and reporting.
• Take ownership of stock accuracy and availability.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• Previous experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations within food, pharma, FMCG, nutrition, or other regulated industries.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel in particular).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English and Dutch
