As a Lead Developer, you and your team will ensure we deliver high-quality technical solutions for our innovative clients. You build it, you run it, you love it!

About the position

As a Lead Developer at Thesio (part of Hoppinger), you'll work with a Digital Project Manager to determine the direction of our projects. In collaboration with our Head of Engineering, you'll determine the best technical approach for the projects and ensure a high-quality, mature development process. You're the technical link between idea and final result.

You'll assume ultimate technical responsibility for your projects. Together with your team, you'll translate your client's challenges and ideas into a technical approach and corresponding design. You'll also be a strong sales force, both to your client and your colleagues. You'll then lead the development process and ensure everything runs smoothly. The end result: the delivery of a beautiful new product.

How you'll help us grow

With us, you'll often work for two major clients simultaneously. Within your client teams of typically 2 to 4 developers, you'll act as a technical coach, mentor, and positive influencer, ensuring the development process runs smoothly. This includes ensuring the right team members with the right competencies are on board and supporting your team in carrying out their work.

As a Lead Developer, you'll be a walking resource and sparring partner for your colleagues and clients. You'll handle project escalations quickly and effectively. Having a difficult conversation with a colleague who's struggling isn't something you see as a problem, but as a challenge to improve. And don't worry, you'll also get plenty of time for actual programming!

In addition to these significant responsibilities, you'll also have plenty of freedom to do your work the way you think it should be done. We'd rather you experiment and make mistakes than keep doing what you've always done. We're also happy to give you the freedom to stay up-to-date on technical matters. We're happy to help you improve your skills, whatever direction you choose.

What do you bring to us?

• You have experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Developer within a commercial organization (permanently or freelance).

• You have extensive experience with front-end, back-end, and (dev)ops work. Think of:
• TypeScript and frameworks such as Node.js, React, and/or Angular;
• NestJS, Apollo Server, and Docker;
• RDBMs such as MySQL. We primarily use PostgreSQL;
• REST and GraphQL APIs.

• You are driven by innovation, have a strong learning capacity, and enjoy working in a team.
