Senior Accountant

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to manage holding-level accounting and overhead control. You will ensure accurate reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, VAT, payroll, and project accounting, while supporting the Assistant Controller and stepping in for operational tasks as needed.

Role Summary

The Senior Accountant / Financial Controller is a key finance professional within the holding organisation. This role focuses on overhead/holding controlling and accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, complex bookings, VAT, project accounting, payroll support, and management reporting. The position is hands-on and pivotal for ensuring accurate financial administration and reporting across the holding entities in the Netherlands, France, and Germany.

What You Will Do

• Oversee overhead accounting and intercompany transactions at the holding level.
• Perform journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and complex bookings.
• Prepare accurate management and statutory reports.
• Support VAT filings, payroll, and project accounting.
• Provide operational coverage for AP/AR or invoice processing when needed.
• Act as a financial link between the Netherlands, France, and Germany.
• Support ERP improvements. Experience with SAP preferred; Exact Globe is an advantage.

Who You Are

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on accounting and holding-level controlling experience.
• Experienced with journal postings, reconciliations, intercompany, accruals, and complex bookings.
• Knowledge of VAT, payroll, and project accounting.
• Excellent English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus.
• Adaptable, structured, pragmatic, and able to work across multiple countries.
