Siemens Cranes is transforming harbor operations worldwide through cutting-edge automation and digitalization solutions. Based in the Netherlands, our global project house leads the Industry 4.0 revolution in crane operations, converting manual processes into smart, flexible terminal operations. As Discipline Lead for Testing & Commissioning, you'll merge technical expertise with leadership to drive excellence in our international crane automation projects. You'll lead a specialized team while actively contributing your expertise to complex, global implementations that typically span 1-2 years across the Netherlands, Germany, China, and customer sites worldwide. Your Role
Team Leadership: Guide and develop a team of ~6 testing and commissioning specialists, managing resources and building capabilities
Technical Excellence: Own testing best practices and ensure all software meets Siemens' high standards
Project Execution: Design test cases, conduct functional and client acceptance testing, and deliver comprehensive documentation
Innovation: Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and methodologies
Integration Expertise: Oversee testing across diverse systems including automation software, PLCs, HMIs, networks, and cybersecurity components
Your Profile
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent
Experience in industrial automation testing (PLC/SCADA applications)
Proven leadership abilities with team building experience
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Experience with TIA Portal and technical documentation
Excellent communication skills with business fluent English (Dutch beneficial)
Bonus Qualifications
Industrial automation networking experience
SIMIT knowledge and/or ISTQB certification
V-model development process familiarity
