Senior Performance Marketeer – Digital Fundraiser
Are you a data-driven digital strategist with a sharp eye for strong content and a passion for impact?
Movement On The Ground is seeking an analytical, creative, and purpose-driven Senior Performance Marketeer – Digital Fundraising to accelerate our online fundraising and lift the quality of our digital content. This is a unique opportunity to lead news-driven, data-informed marketing strategies that inspire engagement, grow our supporter base, and turn digital impact into real-world change.
As Senior Performance Marketeer, you’ll be responsible for developing, executing, and optimising digital fundraising campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and especially recurring donations. You’ll combine strategic insight with hands-on execution: turning data into action, news into powerful hooks, and creativity into measurable growth.
Our Vision
We envision a world where every individual, regardless of background, feels a sense of belonging and is enabled to reach their full potential.
Movement On The Ground is an international NGO transforming refugee reception through our ‘Camp to CampUs’ approach – turning camps into communities where displaced people can rebuild their lives with dignity. Over the past ten years, we’ve impacted over 250,000 people through community-led projects across Europe, the MENA region, and Africa.
You will…
Lead & Execute Digital Fundraising Strategy
- Develop and implement a performance marketing strategy focused on sustainable donor growth, with a strong focus on monthly (recurring) donors.
- Understand and apply the different tactics needed for one-time donations vs. recurring support – and, if you come from outside the NGO world, translate your experience with paid subscribers into effective donor journeys.
- Design, test, and optimise donor journeys and conversion funnels across channels (from first touch to recurring supporter).
- Manage and improve campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and Google Grants, in close collaboration with the wider fundraising and communications team.
- Collaborate with the communications, social media, and content teams to ensure cohesive messaging and brand alignment.
Create News-Driven, High-Impact Campaigns
- Act as a proactive pioneer: spot relevant news, trends, and moments and quickly translate them into strong fundraising hooks and digital campaigns.
- Develop new campaign concepts around news topics, crises or opportunities, with clear impact and urgency.
- Craft and test multiple story angles for campaigns (human stories, long-term impact, emergency response, community empowerment, etc.).
- Develop campaign content that can stand on its own: ad copy, landing pages, email flows, and basic visual concepts – without always depending on a Content Developer.
- Build Email Campaigns & Journeys in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Set up email campaigns and automated customer journeys in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (e.g. welcome flows, upgrade campaigns, crisis appeals, retention journeys).
- Personalise messaging based on audience segments, behaviour and donor value.
- Work with Salesforce CRM data to build smart segments and journeys for recurring donors, one-time donors, and potential supporters.
Analyze & Optimize for Impact
- Use Google Tag Manager and analytics tools to track, measure, and improve campaign performance.
- Analyse data to optimise ROI, conversion rate, recurring donor acquisition and audience engagement.
- Continuously test, learn, and refine creative, targeting, and landing pages through a structured A/B testing approach.
- Report on key KPIs such as CPA, ROAS, recurring donor growth, and retention – and translate insights into concrete next steps.
Collaborate with Field & Content Teams
- Brief program teams on the ground on what kind of photo and video footage is needed for high-performing campaigns (formats, story types, emotional angles, etc.).
- Work closely with the Social Media Manager and Content Developer to ensure we always have strong, on-brief content that supports performance goals.
What you bring…
- Proven experience in performance marketing or digital fundraising, ideally within NGOs or purpose-driven organisations – or experience driving paid subscribers in a commercial context.
- Strong understanding of digital conversion, online donor or subscriber journeys, and supporter engagement.
- A sharp eye for strong content: you know what makes a story clickable, compelling, and conversion-oriented.
- Hands-on experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads, Google Grants, Google Tag Manager, and Google Analytics (GA4).
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Marketing Cloud for segmentation, journeys, and reporting.
- A proactive, news-savvy mindset: you enjoy spotting opportunities in the news and turning them into powerful digital campaigns.
- A strategic, analytical way of thinking, combined with a hands-on, “let’s build it” attitude.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch and Arabic are a plus.
- Organised, self-starting, and passionate about creating measurable impact through digital innovation.
What we offer
- A meaningful role in an energetic, mission-driven organisation.
- A 32–40 hour work week with flexible hours and a hybrid working style.
- A warm, international team based in central Amsterdam.
- The opportunity to shape Movement On The Ground’s digital fundraising and content-driven growth strategy.
- Creative freedom, room for experimentation, and professional development.
