Senior Logistics Process Engineer


Avertim Netherlands is currently looking for a Senior Logistics Process Engineer able to assist in the continuous expansion of Avertim’s consulting activities in Life Sciences & Chemicals. Located in Amsterdam-Zuid, Avertim Netherlands is a trusted partner by the largest players in the Life Sciences sector.

Context

As a Senior Logistics Process Engineer , you will play a central role in optimizing and governing the logistics processes of a major Life Sciences manufacturing site in Sassenheim . You will be responsible for the design, introduction, and continuous improvement of inbound material flows , staging , kitting , internal transport , and finished product distribution .

The role requires a strong understanding of GMP/GDP , operational logistics , and manufacturing processes , as well as the ability to partner with senior site leadership, global teams, and operations to ensure robust, compliant, and efficient material flows.

You will act as a seasoned individual contributor who can lead process changes end-to-end, support the logistics operations team during implementation, and ensure that processes and documentation meet the highest standards of quality , safety , compliance , and operational excellence .

Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve material logistics processes (inbound, staging, kitting, internal transport, distribution).
  • Act as operational lead for the introduction of new logistics systems, flows, and supporting tools.
  • Ensure all processes comply with GMP , GDP , SOPs , and internal quality standards.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot existing workflows to maintain product quality , productivity , and minimal downtime .
  • Apply Lean , process optimization , and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance performance and reduce waste.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional improvement projects , acting as logistics SME.
  • Translate technical and operational requirements into detailed process activities , documentation, and instructions.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs , work instructions , and other controlled documents.
  • Conduct impact assessments , support CAPAs , change controls , and non-conformance investigations .
  • Oversee and support the implementation and qualification of new processes, equipment, or systems.
  • Perform Gemba walks , observe operator workflows, and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Provide coaching to warehouse and operations teams to ensure correct process execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering , Supply Chain , Operations Management , or related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing logistics , operations , or process engineering in a GMP/GDP-regulated environment .
  • Solid understanding of GMP , GDP , operational excellence , and quality systems .
  • Proven experience with logistics process design , material flow optimization , and continuous improvement .
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Conditions

  • Dutch/EU working permit, sponsorship not possible
  • Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
  • Preferably already residing in the Netherlands
