Senior Software Engineer (Cloud / Data Platform)

Our client is a Dutch telecom provider focused on building digital experiences that are more human and more inclusive. They’re hiring a Senior Cloud Data Engineer for their Digital IT Data Platform, a team where people learn together and every voice matters.

Your Day-to-Day: Engineering, Ownership, Impact

• Build production services and APIs in Python using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django
• Create event driven workflows and batch jobs using AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS and DynamoDB
• Design cloud native solutions on AWS using services like ECS, Lambda, S3 and API Gateway
• Use Terraform and GitHub Actions to deliver infrastructure as code and CI automation
• Partner with product, data and cloud teams to shape features and platform direction
• Support secure engineering practices, observability and FinOps
• Share knowledge, mentor teammates and contribute to engineering standards
• Help maintain an open, inclusive, learning oriented team culture

• 3-5 years of hands on AWS engineering experience
• Experience building production Python services using FastAPI, Flask or Django
• Experience with event driven systems or batch processing
• Terraform experience and basic CI knowledge
• Understanding of IAM, VPC concepts and secure cloud design
• Clear communication skills, both technical and non technical
• Based in the Netherlands and fluent in English

Nice to have: Kafka or Kinesis, observability tools, Kubernetes or ECS, or experience with ML or data engineering tooling.
