Sales Engineer – Automated Storage Solutions

A leading European provider of steel racking & shelving for automated storage systems is expanding its team and hiring a Sales Engineer to support major customers across Europe.

Why This Role Matters

You’ll sit at the centre of the commercial engine, taking RFQs, building configurations, producing accurate quotations, and enabling the sales team to win projects ranging from €200k to €5M .

This is not detailed engineering, it’s big-picture technical pre-sales : understanding the customer need, configuring the right storage solution, and ensuring the quote package is commercially correct, competitive, and compelling.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate RFQs into complete costings, layouts, and quotations
  • Use internal tools to configure pallet racking, mini-load, multi-deep and 4D pallet systems
  • Work closely with Key Account & Area Sales Managers
  • Track, update and optimise quote packages across the full pre-sales lifecycle
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, purchasing, and sister companies across the group
  • Ensure CRM/ERP data accuracy to maintain strong customer understanding
  • Occasionally support customer meetings and trade fairs
  • Contribute to developing best practices and team knowledge

What You Bring

  • 5–10+ years in racking, storage systems, mechanical engineering, or intralogistics
  • Strong experience in quoting, costing, layouts, or solutions engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering tools
  • Commercial mindset with a collaborative personality
  • Fluent in English + Dutch (German is a plus)
  • Background within companies involved in steel racking, shelving or storage solutions
