Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Solution & Integration Architect to lead architectural design, integration strategy, and technical oversight across multiple cross-domain IT initiatives. This role requires a strong balance of enterprise architecture thinking, solution design authority, and deep understanding of how platforms, networks, applications, and cloud environments work together in a modern digital landscape.

You will shape the architectural direction of major transformation efforts, ensuring designs are consistent, scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards – while mentoring architects and engineers across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and review multiple solution designs simultaneously, ensuring architectural consistency and alignment with enterprise standards and long-term target architecture.

• Provide expert guidance on integration strategies across applications, platforms, networks, and cloud environments.

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, offering strategic direction without micromanaging execution.

• Document architectures, decisions, integration patterns, and technical guidance.

• Promote architectural excellence, consistency, and maturity across the organization.

• Mentor architects and engineers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing.

• Support digital transformation, modernization initiatives, and platform evolution.

• Ensure designs incorporate security, scalability, operational resilience, and best practices in cloud and infrastructure architecture.

• Partner with infrastructure, network, and security teams to ensure architectural viability end-to-end.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

Core Architecture Competencies (Must Have)

• Significant experience as a Senior Architect (solution, integration, or enterprise). Engineering experience alone is not sufficient.

• Strong solution architecture principles, system design, and enterprise application landscape knowledge.

• Expertise in:

  • Enterprise Architecture
  • Cloud Architecture (Azure preferred)
  • API architecture, IAM & security
  • Integration patterns (event-driven, API-led, messaging, etc.)
  • Digital transformation & modernization
  • Application & platform modernization

• Ability to review, challenge, and refine multiple complex designs.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management; able to influence senior leadership.

• Understanding of:

  • Disaster recovery
  • Platform architecture
  • High availability
  • IT operations

Mandatory – Deep Technical Requirements

The successful candidate must have strong, hands‑on understanding of:

Network & Infrastructure Architecture

• Network architecture fundamentals and end-to-end design
• Cisco ACI
• VMware NSX‑T
• SDN overlays (Software‑Defined Networking)
• Network segmentation, zero trust, routing, micro‑segmentation

Infrastructure / Platform Engineering

• Deep foundation in:
  • Infrastructure services
  • Platform engineering
  • Virtualization
  • Hybrid cloud networking
  • Security boundaries
  • Operational resilience

Soft Skills

• Persuasive, confident, and able to lead discussions with senior stakeholders.
• Professional, credible, and able to influence architectural decisions clearly.
• Collaborative and supportive, fostering team autonomy while providing strong direction.
• Able to mentor junior and mid‑level architects effectively.

Additional Information

• Location: Randstad area, Netherlands
• On‑site requirement: 1 day per week
• Candidates must already have strong, proven architect experience. Not suitable for engineers looking to step into their first architect role.
