THE POSITION In this role, you will be the technical conscience of our infrastructure projects in the Dutch market, such as IJsselmeerdijk Reinforcement, Tiel–Waardenburg Dike Reinforcement, the A15 extension and the Afsluitdijk. These projects vary from €50 million up to €1 billion. You lead the design and engineering teams during the design, preparation and execution phases. Your challenge lies in translating all internal and external requirements into strong, feasible designs — and ensuring these are realised during execution within scope, quality and time. You balance the interests of clients, partners and stakeholders with confidence and clarity. YOUR IMPACT You are part of the Project Management Team and report to the Project Director. Together with the Contract Manager, Process Manager, Environmental Manager and Construction Manager, you make sure every design decision supports our mission building resilient infrastructure for future generations.
Lead multidisciplinary design and preparation teams, ensuring smooth interfaces between work packages
Translate requirements into innovative, sustainable and commercially sound designs
Apply creative technical solutions that support CO2-neutral construction
Challenge and improve our technical methods and standards using your knowledge and vision
As team lead, guide and develop a core team of 8–10 professionals with diverse backgrounds
YOUR WORKPLACE You will be based in our Rotterdam office, with frequent presence on project sites across the Netherlands. You work within the Tender & Engineering department and report functionally to the Manager Engineering of the Infra Land product line. During tenders you operate from Rotterdam, while during project execution you will often work from site. About You You are an analytically strong Engineering Manager or Integrated Design Lead who thrives in the complexity of large-scale infrastructure projects. You combine technical expertise with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You know when to adapt and when to take a stand — and you are not afraid to make clear decisions when needed.
A Master's degree in Civil Engineering (Hydraulic or Geotechnical Engineering is a plus)
At least 15 years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure, preferably in linear infrastructure or dike reinforcement projects
Excellent communication and reporting skills in both English and Dutch
Confident, self-driven and able to create alignment across disciplines and interests
