We’re working with an innovative company operating at the forefront of agri-tech and farming innovation, building connected, intelligent systems that are shaping the future of sustainable agriculture.

They’re now looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer Team Lead / Embedded Engineering Manager to lead and grow a high-performing embedded team, while remaining somewhat technically hands-on. This is a key leadership role with real influence over technology, people, and product direction.

The Role:

As Embedded Team Lead, you’ll sit at the intersection of technology leadership, people management, and delivery. You’ll be responsible for both driving technical excellence and building a strong, collaborative engineering culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary embedded team (software, hardware, and architecture)
• Providing technical direction and hands-on expertise across embedded software development
• Owning embedded system design for connected devices from concept through to production
• Working closely with Product, Architecture, and other Engineering leaders to deliver robust solutions
• Partnering with HR on hiring, onboarding, performance management, and long-term team development
• Supporting career growth, coaching, and succession planning within the embedded team
• Ensuring best practices in coding standards, testing, documentation, and system reliability

Experience:

We’re looking for a strong technical leader who enjoys both people leadership and deep embedded engineering.

Technical Experience:

• Strong hands-on embedded software background using C / C++
• Experience with Python for tooling, scripting, or higher-level application work
• Solid knowledge of RTOS and Embedded Linux
• Experience developing software for connected devices
• Working knowledge of wireless and cellular communication protocols, such as:
• BLE
• Wi-Fi
• LTE / GPRS
• Experience working across the full embedded stack, including close collaboration with hardware teams
• Leadership & Management:
• Proven experience leading embedded software teams
• Experience managing or coordinating embedded software, hardware, and architecture disciplines
• Strong people leadership skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset
• Experience working with HR on hiring, team growth, and professional development
• Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on technical contribution
