CFO

On behalf of a major financial institution based in Amsterdam, we are seeking a strategic and hands‑on Chief Financial Officer to lead the organisation’s full finance function. Operating at the intersection of finance, technology, and regulatory supervision, the CFO will play a central role in strengthening financial integrity, enhancing governance, and supporting long‑term strategic execution.

This position is suited to an experienced finance leader who thrives in a dynamic, regulated environment and enjoys balancing high‑level strategy with day‑to‑day operational oversight.

Role Overview

As CFO, you will oversee all core financial operations, including planning, reporting, compliance, risk management, and financial governance. You will work closely with senior leadership, regulators, and external stakeholders, ensuring robust financial control and full alignment with Dutch regulatory frameworks (DNB/AFM).

You will also drive continuous improvement across processes, reporting standards, and financial infrastructure to support a scalable and future‑proof finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, and long‑term financial policy development.
• Oversee annual accounts, management reporting, regulatory filings, and full audit cycles.
• Act as primary liaison for external auditors, regulators, and clearinghouses.
• Manage the organisation's tax position in partnership with tax advisors.
• Strengthen internal controls, compliance monitoring, and risk‑management frameworks.
• Support incident reporting, policy reviews, and governance improvements.
• Promote best‑practice processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional leaders and coach junior finance team members.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience in senior finance roles within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch reporting requirements and regulatory standards.
• Direct experience with regulatory bodies such as DNB and AFM.
• Strategically minded, with a pragmatic, hands‑on approach to execution.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage senior stakeholders.
