For a beautiful restaurant in Amsterdam, located in a unique historic building, we are looking for a creative chef who is ready for the next step. A chef with vision, who is not only strong in cooking, but also in organization and purchasing, and who together with the team wants to take the quality of the food to the next level.

The venue is located on a lively square and features a large restaurant with plenty of seating and a spacious terrace that is fully active during the summer months. The building breathes history and character and is a place where locals and visitors come together throughout the day.

The ambition

The restaurant wants to further develop its culinary identity. The audience is already there, from morning until late at night, but the focus should shift more towards the quality and signature of the menu.
We are looking for a chef who wants to create a worldly menu. Dishes with character and influences from cuisines around the world, at a level that can compete with fine dining restaurants in Amsterdam, but in an approachable and relaxed setting.

The role

As chef, you are fully responsible for the kitchen and set the direction of the culinary course. You combine creativity with structure and organization and, together with the team, build towards a higher culinary level.

Your responsibilities include

• Developing and implementing a renewed, worldly menu
• Raising and safeguarding the culinary standard
• Leading, coaching and inspiring the kitchen team
• Organizing the kitchen, planning and workflows
• Purchasing, menu costing and cost control
• Close collaboration with the operation to ensure strong alignment between kitchen and front of house

The restaurant is located in a multicultural and vibrant neighborhood and attracts a broad and diverse audience. Local residents, regular guests and visitors find their way to the venue throughout the day. This mix creates an inspiring environment to cook, innovate and surprise guests.
