Advantec Electronics BV was a leading provider of power supply solutions , offering a wide portfolio of standard and customized products serving diverse industries—from industrial automation and transportation to medical, LED systems, and other OEM applications. Following the acquisition by Fortec Group on 1/1/26, the newly created Fortec Benelux BU Power is strengthening its technical sales capabilities to accelerate growth in DACH and Benelux markets.

The Sales Engineer will play a central role in bridging customer needs , technical feasibility , and commercial success .


The Sales Engineer combines technical expertise with consultative sales skills to support customers in selecting, integrating, and optimizing power supply solutions.
This role is responsible for driving design-in opportunities , providing pre‑ and post‑sales technical support , and collaborating closely with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams across the Fortec Group.

The role is 60–70% customer-facing , with limited travel requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Customer Support

  • Advise customers on selecting and integrating power supply products.
  • Provide hands‑on commissioning and application support (hardware-focused).
  • Conduct troubleshooting, error analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for OEM and SMB customers (e.g., Philips, Siemens).

2. Sales Engineering & Design‑In Support

  • Support sales during pre‑sales phases with technical expertise.
  • Identify customer requirements and translate them into feasible technical specifications.
  • Participate in customer meetings (mostly domestic, low travel).
  • Drive long-cycle design-in processes typical for industrial and non-standard products.

3. Customization & Technical Solution Development

  • Develop customer-specific adaptations and technical concepts.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on custom solutions and quoting support.
  • Prepare feasibility studies and contribute to new product ideas based on customer feedback.

4. Quality Assurance & Validation

  • Test and validate new solutions and ensure compliance with relevant norms and standards.
  • Provide structured feedback to product management.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Several years of experience in application engineering, sales engineering, or technical customer support (ideally in power supplies, electronics, or industrial automation).
  • Strong hands‑on mentality; practical experience with testing, validation, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience working directly with customers on technical topics.
  • Good understanding of industry norms and technical standards.
  • Fluent Dutch and English; German is a plus but not mandatory.
