The Role
As a Sales Engineer , you are the key link between technology, sales, and customer solutions. You partner closely with the machinery sales team to translate customer requirements into competitive, technically robust, and commercially attractive solutions.
From initial opportunity through to order confirmation, you advise and support sales by developing tailored machine concepts that combine our existing portfolio with new technologies and innovative configurations. You coordinate internal specialists, including Engineering and R&D, to deliver complete solutions and accurate machine quotations.
Your Key Responsibilities
Act as the technical and commercial link between customers, machinery sales, and internal departments
Analyze customer requirements and translate them into optimal technical solutions using standard and customized machinery concepts
Develop and propose innovative machine configurations by combining existing platforms with new technologies and creative ideas
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (Engineering, R&D, Product Management) to define customer-specific solutions
Prepare complete and accurate machine quotations, including technical specifications, scope, and commercial assumptions
Support sales during customer meetings, technical discussions, and negotiations, both from the Deurne office and on-site
Ensure technical feasibility, risk awareness, and solution competitiveness throughout the sales process
Collaborate with Sales on a structured handover of confirmed orders to Project Management
Contribute to continuous improvement of sales tools, solution concepts, and internal processes
Travel occasionally to customer sites (approximately 10–20%)
You are a strong candidate if you
Hold an HBO-level degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
Bring several years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably within packaging machinery or automation
Are fluent in English; additional languages are considered a plus
Combine strong technical insight with commercial awareness and customer focus
Are comfortable leading discussions with both technical experts and commercial stakeholders
Work proactively, flexibly, and with a strong results-driven mindset
Live within commuting distance of Deurne
