Corporate Accountant


We're looking for a talented individual to join our Finance Department as a Corporate Accountant. In this role, you'll be part of the Northern Europe Accounting team, which is spread across Amstelveen, London and Stockholm. The position is based in our Amstelveen office at Stadshart Amstelveen. Our Dutch accounting team consists of five colleagues and is responsible for the accounting of our Dutch assets and corporate holding entities. These entities hold URW's interests across the rest of Europe, giving this role excellent exposure to complex restructuring and financing transactions


What you will be doing…

  • Quarterly reporting for group purposes (SAP source entries to BFC consolidation), ensuring accurate and timely delivery of information
  • Booking of interest on loans in the NL corporate entities
  • Assisting in certain cash management activities, including monitoring of cash balances and providing funding down the structure
  • Assisting in the preparation of quarterly admin overheads analysis, including commentary on variance of actuals against budget and forecast (working closely with the Controlling team)
  • Preparation of quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, actively identifying and managing risks
  • Day-to-day accounting for corporate holding companies (20+ entities)
  • Accounting for restructures (investments, disinvestments, potential JV)
  • Supporting complex accounting topics (i.e. mergers, capital contributions, disposals, liquidations)
  • Preparation of the 403 statements for 20+ entities
  • Active involvement in the simplification and harmonization of accounting processes between countries within the region
  • Support on various other activities, including:
    • CBS / DNB / KvK reporting
    • Group audit / local AUP queries
    • Budget and forecasting
    • Other project-based work


What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • 3-5 years of work experience in accounting (including time in audit, Big 4 preferred);
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and Dutch GAAP);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch beneficial
  • Highly proficient in Excel, working knowledge of accounting systems (SAP);
  • Ability to deal with tight deadlines;
  • Experience in real estate is a plus.
