Head of Sales


Our client is a globally recognised leader within high-performance materials, specialty steels and tool steel solutions, supplying technically advanced products into demanding industrial markets including automotive, aerospace, tooling, energy, industrial engineering and precision manufacturing.

They are currently seeking a commercially driven Head of Sales to lead and develop their Tool Steel business across the Benelux region. This is a strategic leadership role with full responsibility for driving revenue growth, profitability, customer development and commercial performance across two established premium brands within the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and motivate a team of approximately 10 inside sales professionals across the Benelux region
  • Hold full commercial responsibility for approximately €25M annual revenue across the tool steel portfolio
  • Drive strategic sales growth and identify new business opportunities across the region for the tool steel business
  • Develop and execute regional commercial strategy aligned with wider group objectives
  • Manage key customer relationships across automotive, tooling, industrial manufacturing, aerospace, engineering and energy sectors
  • Define tool steel pricing strategies, commercial policies and margin management activities
  • Work closely with operations, logistics, finance and product management teams to optimise customer service and commercial performance
  • Coordinate commercial activities across multiple premium brands within the group
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer developments within the specialty steels and tool steel market
  • Support supplier and mill relationships, including product launches and technical/commercial development initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement across internal sales processes, customer management and commercial reporting

Candidate Profile

  • Strong commercial leadership experience within tool steel, specialty steels, technical metals or industrial manufacturing
  • Proven experience managing sales teams and driving profitable growth
  • Strong understanding of technical materials, industrial applications and value-added solution selling
  • Experience managing key accounts and complex industrial customer relationships
  • Commercially strategic whilst remaining hands-on and customer focused
  • Strong pricing, negotiation and margin management capability
  • Experience within Benelux industrial markets highly advantageous
  • Ability to operate across both strategic and operational levels within a matrix organisation
