Job Title: Head of Non-Financial Reporting.
Philips is recognized as a leader in ESG reporting, and this role plays a critical part in maintaining that position while strengthening how non-financial reporting supports enterprise priorities, transparency, and accountability. The Head of Non-Financial Reporting leads Philips’ non-financial reporting strategy, operating model, and execution. The role is accountable for external ESG and broader non-financial reporting, related internal controls, and the external assurance process, while ensuring alignment with current and emerging requirements such as CSRD/ESRS and ISSB. As a people leader, this role develops team capability, drives succession planning, and partners across functions to strengthen data quality, policy development, and enterprise-wide adoption of reporting standards. The role also serves as a key advisor to senior stakeholders, helping translate sustainability priorities into reporting, governance, and continuous improvement actions across Philips.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the Non-Financial Reporting team and build capabilities across the function.
- Define and deliver the non-financial reporting strategy and roadmap.
- Own Philips’ external non-financial reporting, including compliance, internal controls, and external assurance.
- Lead delivery of Annual Report non-financial disclosures and quarterly ESG reporting.
- Manage relationships with ESG investors and other key external stakeholders.
- Develop and embed reporting policies, procedures, and governance practices across Philips.
- Drive cross-functional improvements in reporting readiness, data quality, and sustainability performance management.
- Define reporting KPIs and targets and turn results into actionable insights.
- Advise businesses and functions on integrating ESG requirements into decision-making and operations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and oversee compliance actions.
- Lead policy reviews and benchmark Philips’ reporting approach against leading standards.
- Guide talent development, succession planning, and performance management for the team.
- Oversee sustainability data frameworks and external submissions, ratings, and certifications.
- Influence senior stakeholders on Philips’ reporting agenda and sustainability positioning.
- Build strong cross-functional and external partnerships to advance reporting quality and alignment.
- Manage reporting tools and expand use of AI.
- Promote awareness and capability-building across the organization.
Qualifications
- Academic degree in Finance, Accounting, Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's OR Minimum 6 years of experience with a Master's in areas such as Sustainability, Environmental Management, Corporate Social Responsibility or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in ESG / non-financial reporting, ideally combined with financial reporting exposure.
- Proven experience in preparing or contributing to annual reporting processes (including audited deliverables).
- Experience working with external auditors (e.g., PwC or similar) and navigating audit requirements is essential.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements in ESG / non-financial reporting landscape.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams.
- Strong ability to influence and collaborate across functions (e.g., Finance, Sustainability, Legal, HR, Internal Audit).
- Comfortable working in a highly visible role, interacting with senior stakeholders and leadership forums.
- Solid business acumen with ability to understand priorities and translate them into reporting outputs.
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and AI.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including ability to present to senior leadership.
- Ability to deal with complex topics and high-pressure timelines.
