Legal Counsel APAC


Opportunity

We are looking for an autonomous, strategic, and flexible mid‑level Legal Counsel who will thrive in a high‑pressure, high‑stakes creative environment.

This role will handle deal negotiations for a broad range of creative production projects across Asia‑Pacific, clearance of international marketing campaigns, provide practical and business‑focused guidance and support to internal business stakeholders as well as working collaboratively alongside our other regional legal teams.

Reporting to a Senior Legal Counsel (APAC) and partnering with the global legal team, you will also collaborate with counterparts in Finance, HR, Tax, IT/Data and Growth teams.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of legal documents and contracts that bolster our creative production teams in taking on bigger and bolder projects, with a primary focus on MSAs, Statements of Work, RfPs, NDAs, and third‑party agreements.
  • Join negotiations with internal teams and clients on commercial contracts and other legal agreements to align terms with company policies and mitigate potential risks.
  • Provide legal support and advice on compliance and clearance matters for all of our projects and campaigns in APAC.
  • Work collaboratively with the APAC legal team to create, update and roll out contract policies and commercial/legal strategies.
  • Monitor changes and developments in the legal and regulatory environment in the APAC markets and provide appropriate advice.
  • Liaise with account managers and producers to ensure correct implementation of all legal guidelines and policies, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Create, maintain, and update internal agreement templates to reflect changes in the business and legal landscape.
  • Stay current on relevant industry, commercial, IP, privacy, data, employment, and other laws and regulations to adapt our commercial processes.
  • Help manage our legal administration to keep day‑to‑day legal practices up-to-date.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally with some in‑house counsel experience.
  • Qualified lawyer in good standing admitted to practice in a qualified jurisdiction.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin at a high professional level (written and verbal).
  • Hands‑on experience with digital advertising, technology, content and digital media, contract and commercial law, and copyright matters.
  • Experience in privacy, intellectual property, HR and general corporate law is a huge plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and Mandarin. Other languages are a plus.
  • Negotiating skills and experience in drafting commercial contracts.
  • Ability to provide practical and business‑focused guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good eye for detail and the ability to understand the bigger picture.
  • Proactive, strategic and results‑oriented; able to work on tight deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
