Your role

As a Senior Operations & Software Engineer, you will be part of our operations team and play a key role in monitoring, optimizing, and improving our infrastructure and software environment. You will work closely with support agents and fellow engineers to solve technical issues, automate processes, reduce support requests, and ensure our systems remain secure and reliable.

Your responsibilities include:

• Monitoring mail flow and identifying abuse
• Working with external parties to resolve blacklist and abuse-related issues
• Providing 3rd line technical support
• Building internal tooling to automate operational processes
• Supporting infrastructure and development projects
• Solving bugs and improving platform stability
• Developing tools for 1st and 2nd line support teams
• Helping reduce support tickets and improve SLA performance
• Keeping YouTrack organized and up to date

You will work with a modern infrastructure and technology stack including Kubernetes, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, Proxmox, CEPH, and various mail and monitoring systems.

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong technical background and a hands-on mentality. You recognize yourself in the following:

• HBO / University level working and thinking ability
• At least 6 years of experience in software development and/or DevOps
• Experience working in a startup environment or affinity with startup culture
• A proactive, solution-oriented, and “never settle” mindset
• Strong interest in internet technology and digital privacy

Experience with or knowledge of:

• Dovecot, Postfix, and Rspamd
• PHP
• Kubernetes
• Ruby on Rails 7, Turbo, and Stimulus
• PostgreSQL
• HTML, Slim templating, and TailwindCSS
• JavaScript
• Redis
• Nextcloud
• Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager
• Linux infrastructure, virtualization, and storage solutions
