Lead Accounting Excellence in a Dynamic Manufacturing Environment

We are seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to take ownership of the full accounting function for a complex manufacturing site. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance leader who thrives in an industrial setting and enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with team leadership, business partnership, and process improvement.

As a key member of the finance team, you will ensure the integrity of financial reporting, drive compliance with Dutch GAAP and regulatory requirements, and provide accurate and timely reporting to support group consolidation activities. You will also play a pivotal role in an upcoming ERP implementation and wider finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all accounting operations, including:

• General ledger
• Cost accounting
• Accounts payable and receivable
• Payroll accounting
• Fixed assets and Assets Under Construction

Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes aligned with group reporting deadlines

Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with Dutch GAAP

Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliations in partnership with production and supply chain teams

Manage capitalisation and depreciation of manufacturing assets and projects

Lead external audits, tax filings, statistical reporting, and relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies

Develop and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance and operational effectiveness

Manage, mentor, and develop a small accounting team

Support cash management, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and weekly payment runs

Drive continuous improvement through ERP optimisation and automation initiatives

Act as a key contributor to the implementation of a new ERP system

About You

You are a hands-on finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills.

• Minimum 5 years' accounting experience
• Manufacturing, industrial, or production environment experience
• Inventory accounting, cost accounting, and fixed asset management expertise
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, SAGE, or similar
• Exposure to statutory reporting, audits, and tax compliance

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accountancy, Auditing, Business Administration, or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP, accounting standards, and internal control frameworks
• Advanced Excel skills and strong ERP knowledge
• Excellent analytical and organisational capabilities
• Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
• Fluent Dutch and English communication skills
• Able to work independently while building strong relationships across the business
