Electrical Engineer Data Center

Around Schiphol-Rijk runs the densest data center cluster in Europe, and every one of those data centers runs on power that must never fail. That is what you work on.

UPS systems, battery banks and backup power: the installations that keep servers up, even when the grid drops out. You replace battery modules, measure voltage and conductance, pull and label cables and record what you did, because in these buildings the documentation weighs as much as the work. Your working area is around the corner, the data centers of Amsterdam and Schiphol-Rijk, with the occasional trip to Frankfurt or Brussels. If you come from commercial and industrial buildings and UPS is new to you, you learn those systems here on the installation itself, alongside an experienced engineer. Physical, technical and precise, because a mistake is not an option here.

The essentials: Salary €3.300 to €4.100 per month · 40 hours per week · Fulltime · Based in Amsterdam.

In this role you earn €3.300 at entry, rising to €4.100 as an experienced engineer. Growing on to Senior can later reach €4.900, but you are applying now for the Data Center Engineer role.

What you bring

  • Solid experience as an electrical engineer in commercial and industrial buildings, for example offices, healthcare, industry or data centers
  • MBO 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of UPS and backup power systems, extensive experience with them is a welcome plus
  • NEN 3140 VP and VCA VOL, or the willingness to obtain them
  • Driver's license B
  • You can work independently
  • English at working level is a plus
  • Willing to work abroad (regularly Benelux, occasionally further)

What we offer

  • Manufacturer training on UPS systems from Eaton and Schneider Electric
  • NEN 3140 and VCA certification if you don't have them yet
  • The opportunity to obtain NEN 3840 (high voltage)
  • LOTO and ESD training
  • International work in Europe's most secure data centers
  • Metal & Engineering CAO with travel allowance, overtime pay and ADV days
  • A team of 20, no meeting culture, things get done

“Last month I was in Frankfurt. The week before, two days in Belgium. You never know exactly where you'll be next week, but you do know it won't be a boring job.” · Data Center Engineer · 2 years at First Case

How to apply

Low-threshold and honest. No mailbox full of forms. Applying takes a few minutes and a CV is optional. We get back to you quickly.
