Mauve Group is seeking to engage an experienced HR Consultant with strong expertise in Netherlands employment law and practical HR to support our Global HR Consultancy & Employment Advisory team.
We welcome applications from consultants based in the Netherlands, as well as those based elsewhere who can demonstrate comprehensive and practical knowledge of Netherlands employment law, HR practices and the local employment environment.
This is a freelance consultancy role, and the successful consultant must be demonstrably self-employed. The opportunity may also suit individuals who wish to complement their existing employment or consultancy portfolio, provided they have the capacity and flexibility to undertake additional consultancy assignments.
The successful consultant will support Mauve Group and its clients on an ad hoc, project-based basis, providing employment law guidance alongside practical HR advice and solutions. Assignments may cover a broad range of employment-related matters and will require both strategic insight and the ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused HR support.
We are particularly interested in experienced HR professionals who can demonstrate:
- Strong practical knowledge of Netherlands employment law and HR practice.
- Proven experience providing HR and employment advisory support.
- The ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical HR solutions.
- Experience supporting organisations across a broad range of employee relations and employment matters.
- A pragmatic, commercially aware and client-focused approach.
- Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced independent HR professional to work with Mauve Group on a flexible basis and contribute to our growing Global HR Consultancy & Employment Advisory service.
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, employment law, business, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three years' relevant experience in HR and/or employment law, with demonstrable expertise in the Netherlands.
- Strong and up-to-date knowledge of Netherlands employment legislation, regulations, collective bargaining arrangements and HR practices.
- Proven experience providing practical employment law and HR advice to organisations and clients operating in the Netherlands.
- The ability to respond confidently and professionally to client employment law and HR queries, either directly or on behalf of Mauve Group.
- Experience providing clients with employment law updates, compliance guidance and practical recommendations.
- A strong understanding of the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, organisational change, business transfers, disciplinary and grievance matters, and termination of employment.
- Experience drafting, reviewing and updating HR policies, procedures and employee handbooks in accordance with Netherlands employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience drafting, reviewing and advising on employment contracts and associated employment documentation.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex employment matters clearly and translate requirements into practical solutions.
- The ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritise effectively and work independently within agreed deadlines.
- A collaborative and client-focused approach, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, clients and global teams.
- Membership of a recognised HR or employment law professional body would be desirable.
- The ability and appropriate facilities to work effectively on a remote basis.
