EUMETSAT's role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.

Within the Satellite System Ground Segments Division (SGS) of the Technical and Scientific Support Department (TSS), you will contribute to the development of future data processing systems within the Data Processing Verification & Validation (V&V) team supporting Spacecraft and High Level Production data of EUMETSAT and Third party mission operating on different orbits to provide a wide range of information needed by weather forecaster, climate scientist and other data users.
The Data Processing V&V team is composed of highly skilled and talented people that are dealing with the latest technologies (current and future state of the art) applicable for data processing systems in space activities. The team will face and resolve challenging projects where thinking out of the box is essential and bringing innovative ideas is mandatory.

What you'll be doing
As Data Processing Testing Engineer you will:
results review and verification control board, reporting, review support, and communication of verification outcomes.
· Support the identification and evaluation of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and advanced analytics solutions, to enhance testing, quality assurance, and operational confidence across future systems.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A university degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering discipline.

EUMETSAT is an international organisation employing staff from across all 30 member states and this role is being advertised on multiple international job boards, but please note that this role would be based in Darmstadt, Germany and would require international applicants to relocate if successful.
