We're seeking an experienced AI Technical Architect to help some of Europe's largest organisations accelerate software delivery through AI-first engineering practices. This is a hands‑on contract opportunity where you'll work directly within engineering squads, shaping architecture, modernising delivery practices and enabling organisations to release software faster whilst maintaining governance, security and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture initiatives from discovery through to production delivery
• Embed within engineering squads, providing hands‑on technical leadership
• Design scalable cloud‑native and enterprise platforms
• Drive AI‑assisted development, test generation and legacy modernisation initiatives
• Implement delivery controls, governance frameworks and compliance practices
• Define engineering metrics and delivery signals that improve decision‑making
• Work closely with engineering, leadership, risk and compliance stakeholders
• Create reusable architecture patterns and best practices adopted across teams

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise‑scale architectures
• Strong cloud architecture and modern software delivery expertise
• Experience taking AI‑assisted or AI‑first development approaches into production
• Deep understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices and engineering performance metrics
• Experience operating within regulated environments with strong governance requirements
• Exceptional stakeholder management and consulting skills
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences

Desirable Experience

• Kubernetes, Kafka, microservices, security or data platform architectures
• Java, PL/SQL or similar enterprise technology stacks
• LLM agents, agent governance and evaluation frameworks
• SOX or comparable regulatory compliance environments
