Drive the future of cloud transformation as a hands-on leader in AWS migration and modernization. This is the Technical Lead – AWS Migration & Modernization role at EPAM in the Netherlands, offered in a hybrid working mode. You’ll architect and execute complex migrations, automate infrastructure and set the technical bar for AWS readiness. Your expertise will shape both the technical and project management sides of migration, ensuring seamless transitions and modernized solutions for enterprise clients.ResponsibilitiesDirect discovery, wave planning, continuous replication and cutover of legacy environments to AWS using AWS MGN, DMS and automated validation toolingWrite production-grade Terraform/CDK, Python and Bash scripts to automate pre-flight checks, server configuration and cutover tasks to keep cutover windows minimalEnforce the 6 pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework across security guardrails (SCPs, IAM, KMS), network routing and cost efficiencyAuthor minute-by-minute execution runbooks, direct the migration bridge during maintenance windows and ensure safe rollback mechanisms exist for every workloadRun the migration engine: map dependencies across teams, break waves into prioritized backlogs, unblock technical issues and keep delivery on scheduleGuide application teams to assess workloads (using the 7 Rs) and help them move toward containers (ECS/EKS), managed data (RDS/Aurora) or serverlessWork directly with InfoSec and Network teams to automate compliance, IAM least privilege and direct-connect/hybrid connectivity before workloads ever touch productionLead through code reviews, pair programming on automation scripts and establishing practical migration patterns the wider team can reuseChoose migration tooling, pipeline frameworks and design patterns and decide where to rehost or modernizeOwn the technical readiness review and have authority to halt or reschedule a cutover if standards are not metDefine production AWS readiness standards and reject substandard or unmaintainable infrastructureRequirementsProven track record running real-world migrations using AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), DMS and discovery toolsStrong day-to-day fluency in Terraform (or CDK/CloudFormation) alongside Python or Bash for scripting API integrationsPractical experience implementing Control Tower, SCPs, centralized VPC architectures and hybrid cloud connectivityComfortable running cross-functional workstreams, setting wave cadences, managing blockers and running high-stakes live cutovers without panicStrong understanding of moving monoliths into containerized (ECS/EKS) or managed cloud-native alternativesStrong understanding of integration concepts, platforms and patterns during complex migrationsWe offer26 paid holiday daysPension plan schemeDisability insurance (WGA Shortfall insurance)Long-term disability insurance (WIA Top up insurance)EPAM Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Commuting to work - costs reimbursementLaptop + corporate simcard + corporate mobile device (subject to certain eligibility requirements)Bike leaseEmployee Assistance ProgramCorporate Programs including Employee Referral Program with rewardsLearning and development opportunities including in-house training and coaching, professional certifications, and courses #J-18808-Ljbffr
