As a Senior Product Costing & Inventory Analyst, you will work at the intersection of Finance, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain and Sales. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that purchased and internally manufactured materials are correctly valued in SAP and accurately reflected in inventory, cost of goods sold and the company’s financial results.You will understand and oversee the end-to-end financial flow of materials: from purchasing and goods receipt through production, inventory and sales. During month-end closing, you will support actual-costing processes and analyse the differences between standard and actual costs. You will investigate the underlying operational and financial drivers and ensure that the resulting inventory valuations and financial postings are complete and accurate.Initially, you will support the German operations and take over important knowledge relating to inventory valuation, product costing and the technical setup of SAP allocation cycles. Once these activities have been successfully transferred and embedded within the local finance organisation, your focus will gradually shift towards international process harmonisation and improvement projects.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting end-to-end inventory accounting and product-costing processes for purchased and manufactured materials;
  • Executing and monitoring month-end actual-costing and Material Ledger processes;
  • Analysing differences between standard and actual costs and assessing their impact on inventory, COGS and financial results;
  • Reviewing inventory movements, production-order settlements, work in progress and manufacturing variances;
  • Ensuring accurate and compliant inventory valuation in line with applicable accounting standards;
  • Understanding how purchasing, production, supply-chain and sales transactions are integrated within SAP;
  • Executing, monitoring and adjusting allocation cycles for the distribution of costs and revenues across cost centres, products and business segments;
  • Supporting profitability reporting and explaining the drivers behind segment performance;
  • Maintaining relevant controlling master data and supporting changes to the organisational structure in SAP;
  • Identifying process weaknesses and contributing to SAP optimisation, automation and standardisation;
  • Preparing process documentation and supporting the training of local finance teams;
  • Providing clear financial insights to Finance, Operations and Supply Chain stakeholders.

You will report to the Finance Manager in Bergen op Zoom and work within a small international team. Initially, you will collaborate closely with a finance team of approximately three to four colleagues in Germany.

Requirements

For this position, we are looking for a hands-on finance professional who understands how operational activities within a manufacturing company translate into inventory values, product costs and financial results.

You bring:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics or a comparable field;
  • Approximately 5–10 years of relevant experience in inventory accounting, product costing or manufacturing finance;
  • Hands-on experience with the valuation of purchased and internally manufactured materials;

  • Experience within a manufacturing or production environment;
  • Strong SAP knowledge in an integrated manufacturing-finance environment, including SAP FI/CO, Product Costing or Material Ledger;

Experience with SAP allocation cycles, profitability reporting, CO-PA, controlling master data or SAP S/4HANA is strongly preferred.
