Job description

• Support daily operational activities across test teams, facility management, cleaning teams and customers, while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency
• Plan and prepare the clean room and air locks for upcoming spacecraft arrivals and departures, ensuring that all required thalls and support equipment are available as planned
• Coordinate the safe and efficient deployment of overhead cranes, aerial platforms, forklift, pallet trucks and scaffolds
• Monitor the operational readiness and availability of testing halls infrastructure by organising maintenance and technical support for critical systems, including HVAC, electrical power, compressed air, cooling water, access doors, monitoring systems, and communication infrastructure
• Proactively identify, assess and resolve operational and practical challenges arising during daily activities while ensuring safety and quality
• Manage the spare parts storage, and anticipate upcoming operational

Required profile

• Completed training as a technician (MBO-, HBO Techniek /werktuigbouw/mechatronika/luchtvaart/service en onderhoud) or comparable technical experience
• Broad interest in technology and ability to quickly understand unfamiliar technical subjects
• Practical, hands-on, structured and methodical approach to work
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and stakeholders
• Sound judgement, ownership and initiative, including knowing when to involve specialist expertise
• Commitment to safe working practices; experience with cranes, cherry pickers, forklifts or other lifting equipment is an advantage
• Fluent Dutch and English communication skills, with flexibility to work occasional extended hours during critical spacecraft testing phases

As Technical Coordinator Test Facilities (MBO/HBO) – Space & High Tech (m/f/d), you play a key role in ensuring the smooth daily operation of ESA’s Space Test Centre. You coordinate technical support activities, prepare the test floor for upcoming spacecraft test campaigns, and ensure that the required equipment, infrastructure and resources are available when needed.

Working closely with engineers, technicians, facility specialists and international customers, you help solve practical and technical challenges and keep operations running safely and efficiently. A varied and hands-on position in a unique technical environment, where you directly contribute to international space programmes.
