Engineering Manager

As Engineering Manager at Mollie, you will lead a growing team of engineers to define and deliver the technical roadmap for our products. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to shape strategy, drive architectural decisions, and improve product quality, scalability, and innovation. Your hands-on leadership will balance technical depth with team development and delivery velocity. You’ll influence domain vision and set goals for ongoing product improvements, helping Mollie scale to serve 250,000+ businesses.

• Lead a growing team of application engineers with a hands-on leadership style
• Bring technical expertise in large-scale distributed systems and guide teams through complex transitions
• Drive strategic technical decisions in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Lead cross-domain initiatives aligned with business and product goals
• Identify improvements, propose actionable solutions, and boost team velocity and effectiveness
• Help shape domain vision and set goals for product improvement
• Mentor and develop high-performing teams while balancing hands-on work with big-picture thinking

• 2+ years of managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and communication skills
• Hands-on engineering experience building scalable, robust, fault-tolerant systems
• Full-stack product experience, preferably on JVM or PHP stacks
• Customer-centric product sense
• Bias toward action with ability to make quick, informed decisions
