Senior Data Engineer

In this role you design and build a unified semantic layer and governed data foundation across Finance, People, Procurement and Compliance. You will implement governance with Unity Catalog and DataHub, and develop data products on a modern stack (Databricks, dbt, SQL, PySpark) to enable trusted analytics and AI-driven insights. You’ll partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into production-grade data solutions, with a strong emphasis on governance, testing, and observability. • Design, build, and optimise data pipelines, models, and data products using Databricks, dbt, SQL, and PySpark
• Develop semantic models powering reporting, self-service analytics, conversational analytics, and Databricks Genie
• Implement governance with Unity Catalog—lineage, access control, data classification, and data quality standards
• Contribute to DataHub adoption via metadata management, lineage capture, and data ownership standards
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into production-grade solutions
• Promote engineering best practices: testing, CI/CD, documentation, code reviews, and observability
• Work with cross-domain data, architecture improvements, and delivery practices

• 8+ years of experience building production data pipelines and analytical data solutions
• Advanced SQL with hands-on dbt and/or PySpark
• Hands-on Databricks experience including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and PySpark development
• Strong data modeling and data quality understanding
• Experience implementing governance (access controls, lineage, testing, CI/CD)
• Experience with Finance, People/HR, Procurement, Operations data domains is advantageous
